Spotify Launches Countdown Pages

Spotify has launched their new Countdown Pages feature. This is an exciting development for artists and fans alike, designed to create buzz around upcoming album releases directly within the platform. This tool aims to streamline the promotion process, allowing artists to connect with their audience and drive first-week streams more effectively.

Countdown Pages track list, pre-order new merch, watch video Clips you’ve shared, and see a timer count down to the moment your release goes live, all in one place.

Countdown Pages also enable fans to pre-save an upcoming album, ensuring they receive a push notification as soon as it drops. The album is then automatically added to their library, making it easier than ever for listeners to start streaming upon release.

Spotify reports that, on average, nearly 70% of users who pre-save an album stream it in its first week, highlighting the potential impact of Countdown Pages on album performance. This tool is poised to enhance not only the immediate reach of an artist’s new release but also to cultivate a dedicated fan-base.

With Countdown Pages, Spotify is not just providing a promotional tool, but a comprehensive platform that empowers artists to take charge of their releases and engage fans in meaningful ways.

To create a Countdown Page, follow these steps:

  • Log in to Spotify For Artists.
  • Go to the Music tab then Upcoming.
  • Select the release, and click Get started.
  • Upload Clips and tag your merch.
  • Review and publish.

You can create and edit the Countdown Page via the Upcoming tab in Spotify for Artists up until the release goes live. Once published, fans can start pre-saving your release and watching your Clips via your artist profile, the Now Playing view, notifications, and more.

You will also be able to view Countdown Page stats in Spotify for Artists, including total number of pre-saves, impressions, and the percentage of pre-savers that went on to stream in the first 7 days.

Are you eligible?

  • Artists with at least 5,000 active listeners in the 28 last days can create a Countdown Page for their upcoming album.
