Precise Partners recognised at the 2026 Waiata Māori Music Awards

Precise would like to congratulate all of the incredible Precise Partners on their well-deserved wins at the 2026 Waiata Māori Music Awards. The Waiata Māori Music Awards “seeks to develop, encourage, and honour the achievements of outstanding traditional and contemporary musical compositions and performances,” and is of high prestige in recognising Māori composers and their works. This year’s theme was “Ake Ake Kia Kaha E!” – “Forever and Ever, Be Strong” – a whakataukī capturing the endurance and ongoing journey of cultural expression.

We’re proud to have supported 9 nominations and 6 wins at this year’s annual recognition ceremony.

A huge mihi to the following successes:

Best Pop Album by a Māori Artist – Rei (Moisturise & Decolonise)

Radio Airplay Song of the Year by a Māori Artist in Te Reo Māori – Son & Water (‘Nau Mai’)

Best Māori Urban Roots and Reggae Album – Come On Up (Peace Love and Light)

Best Song by a Māori Artist – Jaedyn Randell

Best Māori Group – Son & Water

Best Māori Male Solo Artist – Te Wehi (I’m Home)

And to our Precise Partner finalist nominees:

Best Māori Group – Come On Up

Best Te Reo Māori Album – Huia (Kawakawa)

It’s an honour to support the waiata of these storytellers, and to uplift them on their journeys. We look forward to continuing to support these artists, alongside all of our Precise whānau, in recognising their artistry.
