More than half a million views before a song even dropped is a pretty good sign something is connecting.
That’s where Wellington artist Kiridox finds himself with ‘P.F.S. (Poly Fyne Shyt)’, his new collaboration with Brisbane’s JJ4K. After building serious momentum across social media ahead of release, the track is now out and ready to carry that energy into summer.
Built around the bounce and swagger of 2000s hip-hop and R&B, ‘P.F.S.’ feels deliberately uncomplicated. It’s confident, playful and made to move, with Kiridox and JJ4K celebrating the confidence, independence and beauty of Polynesian women.
Born and raised in Wellington, Kiridox has been steadily carving out his own space since releasing his debut single ‘RUN.’ in 2023. His music moves naturally between melodic rap, West Coast hip-hop, R&B and Afro/Island pop, reflecting both the music he grew up around and his own Pacific identity.
That approach is finding an audience. Kiridox has now passed 1.7 million independent streams, sold out two Wellington headline shows and shared stages with Stallyano, Nelz and Junior Soqeta, while opening for The 046, Sam V and ELENA. Collaborations with POETIK, Stallyano, HALES and Folau have also helped establish him as one of the young artists coming through Aotearoa’s growing Pacific music scene.
‘P.F.S.’ is his first Australian collaboration, linking Kiridox with Brisbane artist JJ4K and adding another dimension to a career that continues to build beyond Aotearoa.
With 500,000-plus views already behind it, the song arrives with plenty of momentum. More importantly, it feels like another clear statement of where Kiridox is heading: proudly Polynesian, unmistakably Wellington and increasingly looking beyond home.
‘P.F.S. (Poly Fyne Shyt)’ by Kiridox & JJ4K is available now on all digital streaming platforms.
