The Vitals 808 are a band which emerged out of Oahu, Hawaii with their fresh, yet timeless take on reggae music.
The Vitals 808 made their debut in the music scene in 2013 with their first EP being released shortly after. This featured their breakout hit “Fake Lover” which found a devoted audience among reggae listeners in Hawai’i and has now accumulated over 2 million streams on Spotify alone .
The EP also included tracks like “Natural Woman” and “Kahalu’u’s Crying,” which received significant airplay on local radio, highlighting the band’s amazing vocals & multitude of talents.
From there, they have continued to produce music including a full length album and a second EP in 2019. They have also now collaborated with other notable artists such as Lion Fiyah, Bo Napoleon, Kapu System and Ka’ikena Scanlan.
This year to celebrate their 10-year anniversary, the band released “Kali Ana Au,” a Hawaiian translation of Bob Marley’s “Waiting In Vain”. An ode we are certain the legend himself would approve of, and one that has gone on to be enjoyed globally.
Despite making their debut over a decade ago now, The Vitals 808 have retained the majority of their original members, including Keahi Piiohia, Cyd Kamakea, Ata Boy Rosa, and Brandon Berinobis. Alongside the band’s steady backline comprising of Guy Heresa, Darin Garcia, and Lapana Ieriko. The newest member of the vocal team, Asaiah (the Maad King) Scott, joined the team during the summer of 2018 after the exit of Nainoa Heffernan who left to concentrate on his beautiful family.
The Vitals 808 are a true demonstration of a band’s unwavering dedication and passion for their music.
